For the third consecutive year, the Human Rights Directorate in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality organized a series of events between the 25th and 30th July 2022 as part of the national efforts to join the Blue Heart Campaign. The theme for 2022 is “Use and Abuse of Technology”.
This year’s Blue Heart awareness raising campaign consisted of outreach initiatives in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Council of Europe (GRETA), Agenzija Appoġġ, Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers, Correctional Services Agency, Victim Support Agency, Malta Police Force, Policy Development and Programme Implementation Officers, MITA, National Statistics Office, and the Directorate for Global Issues within the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade.
A promotional video was developed showcasing this year’s campaign, which was also shown on national TV station. This initiative also contributes towards Action 6 of the of the National Action Plan on Human Trafficking 2020-2023.
