Information sheet for Tenants

According to the 2nd European Union Minorities and Discrimination Survey, 23% of respondents in Malta perceived racial discrimination in access to housing. Respondents identified their skin colour or physical appearance as the main reason behind the most recent incident of discrimination they experienced when looking for housing. Other reasons included respondents’ first or last names and their citizenship. Such discrimination is illegal. 

This information sheet is a deliverable of the END-RACISM-MT with the aim of raising awareness about accommodation rights and obligations and it is the first step towards further future actions in tackling this discrimination.
