Provisions in the EU Directive
The EU Directive provides the types of support that national support services should offer to victims of human trafficking. These include providing shelter and safe accommodation, immediate medical support, referral to medical and forensic examination for evidence in cases of rape or sexual assault, short and long-term psychological counselling, trauma care, legal advice, advocacy and specific services for children as direct or indirect victims.

Foundation for Social Welfare Services – Aġenzija Appoġġ
Aġenzija Appoġġ is the national agency providing social welfare support services which are also offered to victims of human trafficking. Aġenzija Appoġġ provides shelter facilities and professional support to respond effectively to the needs of victims of human trafficking.
Aġenzija Appoġġ can offer:

- assistance for independent living
- safe return to your home country if you so desire

Social Workers are available at Aġenzija Appoġġ to assist you. You can also drop in at Aġenzija Appoġġ offices on weekdays between 8:00 and 17:00.
Victim Support Agency
The Victim Support Agency provides a range of support services free of charge and specifically tailored to each individual.
The agency acts as a national contact point for victims of crime and provides victims with emotional support and legal guidance.

- Court Accompaniment
- Notifications to the Service Users whenever former aggressors apply for Parole or are released from custody.
- Voluntary Return Schemes for victims of trafficking who opt to return to their country of origin for their return to be supported financially by means of an assistance package.

The Inclusive Employment Services Unit offers specific services to vulnerable clients including human trafficking victims.
The unit assists vulnerable jobseekers transitioning from unemployment to employment by providing specific services and training.
Services include:

- Guidance to employment opportunities
- Job search assistance and CV drafting
- Referral to training opportunities
- Referral to work exposure schemes
- Referral to job opportunities
- Professional services
- Mentoring services
- Collaboration with other professionals such as social workers and probation officers.
