The
LGBTIQ Consultative Council is an advisory body set up in 2013 by the then
Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties. The aims of
the Council are to advise government on those issues which impact on LGBTIQ
persons and to put forward legislation, policies and other measures to advance
the rights of LGBTIQ persons in consultation with the Minister. Following
January of 2020, the Consultative Council is now an advisory body within the
Ministry for Justice Equality and Governance, specifically the Parliamentary
Secretariat for Equality and Reforms.
